Alwoodley Golf Club, Leeds

Alwoodley Golf Course is a delight to play and visit. The design of the course launched the career of Dr Alister MacKenzie who went on to create Augusta. Lengthened to nearly 7,000 yards Alwoodley remains true to his original design. On Wigton Moor this heathland course runs almost straight out and back. The inward nine are regarded as tougher as most holes are played into the prevailing wind. The springy fairways cut through heather and gorse with tricky bunkers and large greens.
