Ferndown Golf Club, Dorset

Ferndown Golf Club in Dorset opened its Old Course in 1913 and has become one of the best golf clubs in the UK. The original course was designed by Harold Hilton, the only British amateur golfer to win the British and US Amateur titles in the same year, 1911. It is one of the prettiest courses you’ll play with long-range vistas and perfect tree lines. With flat fairways but raised bunkers, it makes for a novel and very pretty design and the fairway shaping and green-keeping ensures you’ve only got yourself to blame if you don’t play well. Watch out for the streams and don’t try and blast your way around this course. In a strong area for golf, Ferndown may just take the mantle of being the best. There's a lovely nine hole course for the afternoon. Buggies Electric and manual Trolley Hire Traditional clubhouse Caddies available during school holidays
