Chantilly Vineuil Golf course, north of Paris, deservedly features in the official World Top 100 golf courses. The official home of the Federation Francaise de Golf, Chantilly Vineuil is rated in the European Top 15. It's the superior sister to Chantilly Longeres Golf course. The golf club is worth a two day trip on your golf itinerary as both courses are definitely worth playing. Designed by Tom Simpson, Vineuil is a superb parkland course which has hosted several French Opens. The bunkers are large but shallow and the greens subtle. The fairways are generous but the rough is penal and the contours of the course require very clever strategy. Chantilly Vineuil is a timeless classic and is wonderfully framed by the surrounding forest. Easy walking until the 16th when three very challenging holes can break your score or put a smile on your face. Please note that the course does not offer buggies, and shorts are not allowed.
