Arcangues Golf Club, Biarritz

A few miles inland from Biarritz, Arcangues Golf Club is a fine test of golf over undulating terrain with the Pyrenees as a spectacular backdrop. Designed by Ronald Fream, Arcangues is an American-style target golf course in a very French setting. With four sets of tees, the course can be friendly or tough and you need to be able to shape the shot as there are several dog-legs and several other holes with greens well above the fairways. The excellent clubhouse food is even better from the panoramic terrace. Although not as famous as some of the courses in the area, you'll be glad it is on your itinerary.
