Saint Germain Golf Club, Versailles

Saint Germain Golf Club, near Versailles, is probably the least known of the big courses around Paris but the most appreciated. You can find it in the European Top 40 rankings. Highly wooded and sculptured, Saint Germain is a beautiful walk through an expert creation. Keep your eye on your game as there are plenty of bunkers, raised greens and gorgeous fairways. It’s easy walking but it’s not easy to score well. You need to have a good short game and to carefully study the course. A wonderful clubhouse with good food provides the final flourish.The welcome is warm at this 1920 Harry Colt design. This area of France is easy to reach on a self-drive holiday from the UK and incredible value in the summer, when the French golfers head to the coast for the holidays.
