Overview

Three days Quinta. Then four days on a volcano in the Atlantic.

Start with the Algarve's finest — Quinta do Lago, San Lorenzo, Vale do Lobo — then fly three hours west to São Miguel in the Azores. Furnas Golf Club sits in a volcanic crater with hydrothermal vents steaming behind the 18th green. No two trips in Europe offer a contrast like this.

Who this is for

For the Algarve regular who wants to add something genuinely new. The Algarve half is familiar and excellent. The Azores half is volcanic, wild, and unlike anywhere else in Europe. The contrast between the two is the whole reason to do this trip.

April to October works for both. The Algarve is reliable as always. São Miguel in the Azores has a mild, Atlantic climate — temperatures 18–24°C year-round — but can receive rain at any time. The volcanic landscape means mist and dramatic cloud is common and makes it more beautiful, not less.
