This is the American bucket list. Pebble Beach — U.S. Open venue five times over — with the Cypress Point seals barking below the 18th. Then north to Bandon Dunes on the Oregon coast for the most authentic links experience in the Americas. You will not need another golf holiday for some time.

For the golfer who has everything except this one. Pebble Beach is genuinely one of the great experiences in world golf — not just in golf — and Bandon Dunes is the best links complex in the Americas. The price is what it is. Nobody who has done this trip has ever said it wasn't worth it.

When to Go
May to October is the California window — sunny, 18–24°C, Monterey Bay fog clears by 10am most days. Bandon Dunes on the Oregon coast is windier and cooler — bring multiple layers. The combination of climates in one trip is actually part of the experience.
