I've been sending golfers to Belek since 2008 and I still have to explain where it is at least twice a week.
Belek is a coastal resort town in the Antalya province of southern Turkey. Twenty years ago it had nothing. Today it has more championship golf courses within 20 kilometres than the whole of Scotland.
The green fees at Carya, genuinely ranked in the world's top 100 courses, are €90. At Sotogrande you'd pay €200 and feel like you'd got a deal.
The Turkish Airlines Open is played at PGA Sultan every autumn. Rory has been here. Rahm has been here.
I'll tell you what the catch is: the food in Belek is not, in my view, as good as Portugal or the Algarve.
I've had more repeat clients from Belek than from anywhere else I send people. That's the statistic I'd point to.
